Birth Doula Services
The birth of your baby is a transformative event in your life - one you will remember forever. As a birth doula, it is my desire to help you have a normal, safe and satisfying childbirth experience. I will work with you, your partner and/or support persons and careproviders to ensure that you have continuous emotional support, that your needs for physical comfort and being addressed and that you understand your choices throughout the birth process.
Two prenatal visits during which we discuss your vision/preferences for your birth and newborn, review the childbirth process, explore comfort techniques and bodywork, discuss basic newborn care, breastfeeding and the postpartum period and any other topics of concern as needed.
Assistance with the development of a personalized birth/newborn preference plan.
TENS availability and training included.
Availability via phone/text/email throughout pregnancy and postpartum.
Provide community referrals as needed.
On-call two weeks before your estimated due date until birth
Guaranteed back-up doula, if needed.
Labor, Birth and Postpartum Support:
Continuous labor support both at home and at your birth location.
Birth photography, if desired.
Immediate postpartum support after birth and assistance with initial breastfeeding.
Postpartum follow up visit.

As a Birth Doula, I Do Not:
Perform any clinical tasks
I do not perform any clinicial tasks such as blood pressure, fetal heart checks, vaginal exams, etc. I am there to provide only physical comfort, emotional support, evidence based information (not opinions) and to help you advocate for yourself.
Make decisions for you
I will help you get the information necessary to make an informed decison. I will also remind you if there is a departure from your birth preferences.
Speak to the staff on your behalf
I do not communicate with clinical staff on your behalf regarding matters where decisions are being made. I will discuss your concerns with you and help you explore options, but it is your responsibility to communicate your decisions.
